This salt water lagoon extends behind Maria Pia pinewood and beach from the city to the small town of Fertilia, where you can see the remains of and ancient Roman bridge.

Recently Porto Conte Park has installed bird watching shacks, from where visitors can observe pink flamingos, herons, cormorants and other species.

There are also trekking paths and tables to picnic.

The lagoon can be quickly reach from Alghero by foot or by bicycle.
