Castelsardo

A medieval town in the north-western coast of Sardinia preserved virtually intact thanks to its particular geographical postion, perched atop a promontory high above the sea that has protected it from attacks and destruction over the centuries.

Castelsardo today is a well-equipped tourist town, with a marina and beautiful beaches and small inlets perfect for a pleasant summer holiday, but also offer a wonderful views and the chance to walk around the old city and buy the traditional hand-woven baskets, meeting the old ladies that still make them.

It will take you around one hour drive to reach Castelsardo. After the visit you can proceed to visit also Stintino or to Santa Teresa di Gallura, before returning to Alghero
