It's the nearest beach to La Mandronia. You can reach it by foot (5 minutes) or by bicycle. It's a long sandy beach with bars and restaurants and, if you like, sun umbrella and chairs for rent. It's crowded in the summer weekends but quiet during the week.
A perfect place also to have an after-beach drink and watch the marvellous sunset with view of Capo Caccia in trendy bars like Maracaibo, Kelu and Bahia.
La spiaggia più vicina a La Mandronia, solo 5 minuti a piedi o in bicicletta.
E' una lunga striscia di sabbia bianca con bar, ristoranti e bagni attrezzati dove potete noleggiare sdraio e ombrelloni.
Piuttosto frequentata nei weekend estivi è comunque molto tranquilla durante la settimana.
Un posto perfetto dove prendere un aperitivo dopo spiaggia e ammirare il tramonto con la vista di Capo Caccia in uno dei locali trendy come il Maracaibo, Kelu o Bahia.
Pineta Maria Pia

It's worthwhile to walk for about 30 minutes (or 10 minutes by bicycle on restricted bicycle lane, or by public bus) to reach the wonderful maritime pine wood of Maria Pia. After passing the sand dunes you will reach a quiet white sand beach.
There are many bars and restarurants on the beach where you can taste pasta or sandwiches and have a drink, and stay also for dinner to enjoy the sunset.
Vale la pena di passeggiare per circa 30 minuti (o 10 minuti in bicicletta lungo la pista ciclabile sul lungomare) per raggiungere la meravigliosa pineta Maria Pia.
Dopo aver oltrepassato la pineta e le dune, raggiungerete una tranquilla lunghissima spiaggia di sabbia bianca.
Ci sono alcuni bar e ristoranti sulla spiaggia dove fermarsi per un piatto di pasta, un sandwich o un drink, ed eventualmente anche per cena e godersi il tramonto.
Punta Negra

After passing the small town of Fertilia, you can reach the famous Punta Negra beach. On one side there's a 5 star hotel with private beach but on the other side the beach is open to everybody.
This beach is not so crowded, and not far from Alghero, so it can be a good target for a bicycle ride (7 km.).
It takes around 15 min. by car but parking lot is small, so better avoid it in the weekends.
Dopo aver superato la cittadina di Fertilia in direzione nord, potete facilmente raggiungere la spiaggia di Punta Negra. Da un lato della spiaggia sorge un famoso hotel a 5 stelle, ma l'altro lato della spiaggia è aperta a tutti.
La spiaggia non è mai affollatissima e non è lontana da Alghero, e quindi può diventare una buona meta per una passeggiata in bicicletta, tutta su pista ciclabile (circa 7 km.).
Ci si arriva velocemente anche in auto ma il parcheggio è piuttosto ridotto, quindi meglio evitarla nei weekend.
Le Bombarde

It's the trendy beach in Alghero where young people meet to relax after night life in the local discos and pubs. Try to avoids it in the summer weekends as it's not so wide and can be really crowded, but if you enjoy looking at pretty girls and boys then it's the place for you.

E' la spiaggia di tendenza ad Alghero, dove i giovani si rilassano e si ritrovano dopo l'intensa vita notturna nei locali e discoteche cittadine.
Meglio evitare quindi questa spiaggia nei fine settimana perchè non è molto grande ed inevitabilmente quindi è molto affollata, ma se vi piace rifarvi gli occhi con belle ragazze e tipi da spiaggia, allora è il posto giusto.
Potete raggiungerla con una pedalata di mezz'ora, quasi tutta su pista ciclabile, oppure col servizio Cattogno Beach-Bus.
Se andate in auto il parcheggio è piccolo e in estate è a pagamento.
Lazzaretto

Near to Le Bombarde you can find Lazzaretto beach. It's a shorter beach than Le Bombarde but much wider so you'll probably find a place for your umbrella. Sea water here is the coldest of the whole gulf, as the currents carry it from the deeper sea, but it's always crystal clean. This beach is famous in Italy because of a TV commercial by Barilla pasta maker that was shot here with the old tower in the background and with a famous song by Vangelis as soundtrack.
You can reach it by bicycle in about 35 minutes, almost all in protected bicycle lane, or by Beach-Bus service managed by company Cattogno
Si trova vicino a Le Bombarde e la spiaggia è meno lunga ma più profonda e quindi è più facile trovare un posto per il vostro ombrellone. Si dice che qui l'acqua del mare sia la più fredda di tutta Alghero perchè le correnti la portano dalle zone di mare più profonde, ma il vantaggio è che è sempre limpida.
Questa spiaggia è famosa perchè è stato girato un famoso spot della Barilla con la torre sullo sfondo e una famosa canzone di Vangelis come colonna sonora.
Ci si arriva con una pedalata di circa 35 minuti, quasi tutta in pista ciclabile, o con il Cattogno Beach-Bus.
Anche qui il parcheggio è piuttosto ridotto e a pagamento in estate

When Maestrale north wind strongly blows, this is the beast beach where to go, as it is enclosed in a gulf that protects it. A small maritime pine wood lies behind the beach, making it typically Mediterranean. Water is always crystal clear here. You can find two bars on the beach.
It takes around 20 minutes by car to reach the beach. By bicycle it's around 15 km.

Quando il maestrale da nord è particolarmente forte, questa è una delle spiagge migliori perchè è racchiusa in un golfo che la protegge parzialmente. Una piccola pineta sorge dietro la spiaggia , rendendola tipicamente mediterranea. L'acqua è sempre molto limpida in questa zona. Ci sono due bar con toilette sulla spiaggia.
Ci vogliono circa 20 minuti in auto per raggiungere la spiaggia da Alghero, e in bicicletta sono circa 15 km.
Si può anche raggiungere con il Cattogno Beach Bus.

If you like snorkeling this is the beach for you. It's near to a famous camping but if you want to spend a few hours in quiet you have to see it.
Take also a walk to the old sighting tower to see the surrounding landscape. Better you wear sneakers instead of sandals as it takes 10 minutes to reach the beach from the parking lot.

Se vi piace fare snorkeling è la spiaggia per voi. E' vicino a un grande camping ma se volete trascorrere qualche ora in completa tranquillità, è assolutamente da vedere.
Potete anche fare una passeggiata sino alla cima del promontorio che ospita la torre di osservazione, da dove potete vedere uno splendido panorama. Meglio indossare un paio di scarpe piuttosto che delle ciabatte perchè l'accesso alla spiaggia richiede una decina di minuto dal parcheggio ed è abbastanza scosceso.
Ci si arriva in auto, oppure con una buona pedalata di circa 45 minuti, oppure con il Beach-Bus Cattogno

At the end of the dirt road where you park the car you can choose between the rocky beach or the long sandy beach, surfer's paradise in windy days.
The rocky part is wild while on the sandy beach you can find bars. It's the ideal place to enjoy the silence of nature and the sound of the waves.

Alla fine della strada sterrata che porta al parcheggio potete scegliere tra la spiaggia di scogli o la lunga spiaggia di sabbia, paradiso dei surfisti quando c'è vento.
La spiaggia di scogli è più selvaggia e priva di servizi che trovate invece nella spiaggia di sabbia.
La zona è ideale per godere del silenzio della natura e dello sciabordio delle onde. Portate anche maschera e pinne !
Ci vogliono circa 30 minuti di auto per raggiungerla. In bicicletta la distanza è abbastanza notevole (24 km.) ma se siete sportivi...
Cala Dragunara

It's a very small beach but worthwhile to see for the amazing blue hues of the sea.
After the visit to Dragunara you can also take the boat from here to visit the nearby Grotte di Nettuno (Neptune's Caves) or take the car and go to the belvedere on top of Capo Caccia.
You can also snorkel along the coast.
It takes around 30 minutes by car to reach the beach. By bicycle it's around 22 km.
La spiaggia è molto piccola ma vale la pena di darle un'occhiata se passate da queste parti per andare a Capo Caccia, per le incredibili tonalità di blu del mare.
Dopo la sosta potete prendere da qui un battello che vi porta alle Grotte di Nettuno oppure riprendere l'auto ed andare al Belvedere a godervi la vista del mare aperto da un lato e della Baia di Porto Conte dall'altro.
Potete anche fare snorkeling lungo la costa.
Ci vogliono circa 30 minuti per arrivare qui in auto. In bicicletta calcolate che ci sono 22 km. da Alghero, in parte in salita.
Poglina (La Speranza)

This beach is also called La Speranza (the Hope) as a small church with this name was built nearby.
The white sandy beach is very nice but the main reason to come here is the drive along the coast to reach it, that is just amazing. You can stop in one of the many belvedere at the side of the road to enjoy the wiew, that is amazing especially at sunset. You can find two bars on the beach.
It takes around 20 minutes by car to reach the beach. By bicycle it's around 12 km. but since the coast is high in this area, be ready and fit to climb.
Questa spiaggia è chiamata anche La Speranza dal nome di una piccola chiesa costruita qui vicino.
La spiaggia di sabbia bianca è molto ampia e il mare trasparente, ma la vera ragione di arrivare sin qui è la strada che si percorre lungo le alte scogliere rocciose, che offre una vista spettacolare.
Ci sono alcuni belvedere lungo la strada in cui è possibile fermarsi a scattare foto, uniche soprattutto al tramonto.La spiaggia è dotata di due bar con toilette.
Si impiegano circa 20 minuti per arrivare qui in auto da Alghero (soste fotografiche escluse). In bicicletta sono all'incirca 12 km. ma la costa sale parecchio nell'ultima parte e quindi mettete in programma una discreta sudata.

Argentiera is a former mining town, its name comes from the Italian argento, that means silver. The mine was exploited since the ancient Romans era. The town declined after World War II, and the mine was closed in 1963. Today the town is the home of a few small businesses who get most of their income from tourism. It is one of the most important example of industrial archaeology in Sardinia. It takes around 30-40 minutes dirve by car to get there, along a winding road. The three beaches around the town are amazing and never full of people.
Argentiera è una vecchio paesino minerario, che deriva il suo nome appunto dalla miniera d'argento che vi si trovava. Sfruttata sin dai Romani, ebbe un declino dopo la seconda guerra mondiale e fu chiusa nel 1963.
Oggi il paesino è dedito solamente al turismo coniugando l'attività balneare alla archeologia industriale, che viene portata avanti anche grazie a fondi europei.
Ci vogliono circa 40 minuti per raggiungerla da Alghero, lungo una strada tortuosa in collina.
Le tre spiagge attorno al paesino sono meravigliose e mai affollate.

A long wild beach in Stintino area that is really worthwhile to see because it's made by white stones of the size of rice, that makes it unique in this area and give to the sea all hues from white to blue.
It's a windy area, so fresh also on hot summer days. There's also a kitesurf service center.

Una lunga e tranquilla spiaggia nei pressi di Stintino che vale veramente la pena di visitare perchè composta da sassolini bianchi della misura di un chicco di riso, che la rendono unica in questa zona e conferiscono all'acqua tutti i toni dal bianco al blu intenso.
E' un'area piuttosto ventosa se cercate sollievo dal caldo nelle giornate di Luglio e Agosto, tanto che c'è anche un attrezzato centro per il kitesurfing.
In auto ci vogliono circa 45 minuti per raggiungerla da Alghero.Da Giugno a Settembre c'è anche un servizio autobus quotidiano gestito da SardaBus
La Pelosa - Stintino

One of the most famous beaches in Italy, as it's called the Caraibbean of the Mediterranean Sea, thanks to the white sand an to the low water that contributes to the "swimming-pool" look.
It takes around 45 minutes by car to reach the beach in normal traffic conditions. From June to September there's also a daily bus service managed by company SardaBus (orari qui https://www.sardabus.it/nur2.html)
IMPORTANT
La Pelosa is a limited capacity beach. From June 1st to October 31st only 1.500 people per day can access the beach. Reservations to be made in advance at https://spiaggialapelosa.it/ .
The price is € 3,50 for adults while it's free of charge for children under 12 years old.
It's compulsory to use mats under the beach towel to preserve the sand. You can find the mats near the entrance of the b&b.
E' una delle più famose spiagge italiane, chiamata "i Caraibi del Mediterraneo" , grazie alla sabbia bianchissima e al fatto che degrada molto lentamente conferendole un effetto piscina.
Purtroppo la spiaggia non è grandissima ed è molto affollata, quindi da evitare possibilmente nei weekend.
Suggeriamo di arrivare abbastanza presto (tra le 8.00 e le 9.00) la mattina per trovare posto sia al parcheggio che in spiaggia.
In condizioni normali di traffico, calcolate circa 45 minuti da Alghero per arrivarci. Da Giugno a Settembre c'è anche un servizio autobus quotidiano gestito da SardaBus (timetable here https://www.sardabus.it/nur2.html).
IMPORTANTE
La Pelosa è una spiaggia a numero chiuso. Dal 1 Giugno al 31 Ottobre possono accedere un massimo di 1.500 persone al giorno.
E' necessario prenotare in anticipo sul sito https://spiaggialapelosa.it/ al prezzo di € 3,50 per gli adulti e gratis per I bambini fino a 12 anni.
E' obbligatorio l'uso di stuoie sotto i teli mare per preservare la sabbia. Trovate le stuoie vicino alla porta di ingresso del b&b.
